What changed in the latest version
13 added · 13 removedPlain-language change summary
The revised version of Bill SB 5651 now specifically includes only child support in the exemptions from garnishment, removing references to alimony and spousal support. This change matters because it narrows the focus of the exemption, ensuring that child support payments remain protected from creditors while seeking to simplify the legislation. By doing this, it aims to better safeguard the financial wellbeing of children relying on such support.
