What changed in the latest version
69 added · 83 removedPlain-language change summary
The latest version of SB 5332 has changed the terminology from "mobile dwelling unit" to "home on wheels," which may better resonate with the public. Additionally, it removes the requirement that the dwelling unit must not be located in designated shorelines or critical areas. These changes clarify how the homes can be situated while still ensuring adequate utility services, which could make it easier for people to set up alternative housing options in urban areas. This matters because it could increase the availability of affordable housing options in areas where traditional housing might be too expensive or difficult to build.
