The amendments to House Bill 2361 change how often the maximum amount for small loans will be adjusted; instead of being updated every two years, it will now be updated annually starting in 2027. Additionally, the department of financial institutions will now share this information on its website and through press releases, making it more widely accessible. This change is important as it ensures that loan limits keep pace with inflation more frequently, helping borrowers avoid excessive debt in times of rising living costs.
