This bill died with 2015-2016 Regular Session. It reached “In Committee” and never advanced before the session ended, so it can no longer move — a new version would have to be reintroduced in the current session.
This bill is no longer active — its legislative session has ended, so there are no live odds of enactment. It would have to be reintroduced in the current session to move again.
Summary
Existing law specifies the controlled substances that may be used in narcotic replacement therapy by licensed narcotic treatment programs, including federally approved controlled substances used for the purpose of narcotic replacement treatment, and requires the State Department of Public Health to establish guidelines for narcotic treatment programs, including dosage requirements. This bill would, instead, authorize the use of federally approved controlled substances used for the purpose of substance use disorder treatment.
