Summary
Existing law authorizes the Commissioner of the California Highway Patrol, through contracts with other public agencies or with private entities, to provide financial or other support to projects aimed at enhancing motorcycle operation or safety. Existing law requires all administrative costs of a premier motorcyclist safety training program to be paid for by the provider. This bill would specify that those administrative costs would include the cost of owning and maintaining motorcycles. The bill would also make various technical, nonsubstantive changes.
