TN —————+ Patron—Wyatt+ R —————+ + Agreed to by the House of Delegates, June 22, 2026 O L WHEREAS, on June 13, 2026, the New Kent High School baseball team claimed its second state title in OL D three years with a victory in the Virginia High School League Class 3 state championship;
and WHEREAS, the New Kent High School Trojans defeated the Turner Ashby High School Knights by a UE score of 8–3, capping off a 12-game win streak to finish the season with an impressive 25–2 record;
and D WHEREAS, in the state final, the New Kent Trojans took an early 1–0 lead in the bottom of the first C inning, and although the Turner Ashby Knights equalized in the top of the second inning, New Kent's E explosive offense came alive in the bottom of the second inning to score five more runs;
and D WHEREAS, the New Kent Trojans never looked back, adding two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to seal the win;
now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the New Kent High School baseball team hereby be H R commended on winning the Virginia High School League Class 3 state championship in 2026;
and, be it 2 RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for 3 presentation to Trevor Ronan, head coach of the New Kent High School baseball team, as an expression of 9 E the House of Delegates' admiration for the team's athletic achievements and best wishes for the future.
