and D WHEREAS, the Family YMCA of Emporia-Greensville first opened its doors on June 27, 2001, and was UE established through the visionary leadership and dedication of volunteers who sought to strengthen the CD quality of life for local residents;
and WHEREAS, the Family YMCA of Emporia-Greensville began as a small store-front facility at 510 North E Main Street and, through strong community support and growing participation, expanded twice before the construction of its permanent 27,000-square-foot facility, which was completed in partnership with the D Greensville Memorial Foundation and opened on November 10, 2009;
and S WHEREAS, the Family YMCA of Emporia-Greensville has become a community gathering place for all R ages by offering wellness programs, fitness opportunities, senior activities, high-quality child care, and 2 outreach programs that promote health, wellness, and character development;
and 1 WHEREAS, the Family YMCA of Emporia-Greensville has ensured that its programs and services E R remain accessible to all in the community, regardless of age, background, or income, by providing need- R based financial assistance;
and 2 WHEREAS, the Family YMCA of Emporia-Greensville currently employs approximately 70 people and 0 has become a trusted nonprofit organization in the community, as evidenced by its many partnerships with 3 other local agencies and organizations;
