and C WHEREAS, Cinema Cafe opened in a twin-plex theater in the Pembroke Meadows shopping center in E Virginia Beach in 1986 as a franchise of Cinema ‘N' Drafthouse, a Florida-based company that created a ED unique theatergoing experience by serving food and beer while screening discounted second-run movies;
and WHEREAS, in the 1990s, the theater's owners secured their independence from the Cinema ‘N' D Drafthouse franchise and rebranded as Cinema Cafe, embracing a more family-friendly and community- oriented business model;
and WHEREAS, Cinema Cafe has continually upgraded and enhanced its amenities and services, including by transitioning to digital projection and sound, to provide its customers with an exceptional and memorable H theatergoing experience;
and R WHEREAS, with an unwavering commitment to quality, affordability, and service, Cinema Cafe has 2 endeared itself to its patrons and become a cherished institution in the communities of Virginia Beach, H2 Chesapeake, and Chesterfield County;
now, therefore, be it 2E RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Cinema Cafe hereby be commended for its legacy of 0R service on the occasion of its 40th anniversary;
and, be it 7 RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the owners of Cinema Cafe as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the business's contributions to the Commonwealth.
