The updated version of Bill S 7 includes a clarification that payments made to an injured party from the liability insurance of the at-fault driver will not reduce the amount available under the injured party's underinsured motorist coverage. This means that victims can receive the full amount of their underinsured motorist benefits even if they have already received compensation from the at-fault party’s insurance. This change is significant because it helps ensure that injured individuals are fully compensated for their losses, improving their financial recovery after an accident.
