The updated version of Bill HB 381 includes new measures concerning electric mobility devices. Notably, it now prohibits alcohol consumption while operating electric-assisted bicycles, requires helmet use for riders under 21, and addresses the tampering with these devices. Additionally, it allows law enforcement to hold an electric vehicle operated by someone under 18 who violates these rules, ensuring both safety and compliance among younger riders. These changes aim to enhance public safety and clarify regulations for electric vehicles on the road.
