and WHEREAS,WHEREAS , The daughter of Manuel Briones and Nieves Guerrero, this beloved woman was born in Linares, Nuevo Le˘n, Mexico, on August 27, 1933;
and WHEREAS,WHEREAS , Mrs.AMartinez was employed for many years as a migrant farm worker, and she traveled to Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida to help support her family;
and WHEREAS,WHEREAS , For a decade and a half, Mrs.AMartinez was blessed with the love and support of her first husband, Filiberto Martinez;
Mrs.AMartinez was the devoted mother of 7 children, Jose, Melba, Domingo, Maria, Josefa, Ernesto, and Josefina MartinezMartinez, who preceded her in death, and with the passage of time, she welcomed 27 grandchildren, 63 S.R.ANo.A86 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren into her family;
and WHEREAS,S.R. Admired for her passion and generosity, Guadalupe Martinez lived a caring and purposeful life, and she leaves behind a record of service that her loved ones can remember with pride;
now,ANo.A86 therefore,WHEREAS, beAdmired itfor RESOLVED,her Thatpassion theand Senategenerosity, ofGuadalupe theMartinez 89thlived Texasa Legislature,caring 2ndand Calledpurposeful Session,life, herebyand payshe tributeleaves tobehind thea memoryrecord of Guadalupeservice B.that her loved ones can remember with pride;
now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Guadalupe B.
and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolutionResolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Guadalupe Martinez.
