What changed in the latest version
104 added · 82 removedPlain-language change summary
The updated version of Bill SB 129 now mandates that local governments must comply with the 2024 edition of the International Building Code instead of the previous 2021 edition. This change is important because it ensures that construction standards are aligned with the most current safety and building practices, which can help improve public safety and building quality. Additionally, the bill still exempts mobile homes and single-family dwellings from certain requirements, maintaining flexibility for smaller housing types.
