Plain-language change summary

The bill SB 10 has been amended to extend the adoption of certain federal motor carrier regulations to include updates through January 1, 2026, rather than just up to January 1, 2025. Additionally, the language clarifying exemptions for certain intrastate vehicles has been revised, now specifying that vehicles with two axles or less are included in the exemptions, which means that drivers of smaller vehicles will have fewer regulations to follow. This change is significant because it eases compliance for drivers and carriers operating lighter vehicles within the state, potentially reducing administrative burdens and enhancing local transportation efficiency.
