The recent amendments to Bill S 701 include defining members of the United States Space Force as part of the Armed Forces, ensuring they receive the same absentee voting rights as other military members. These changes also update related definitions across several sections of South Carolina's voting laws to maintain consistency. This matters because it recognizes members of the Space Force as serving in the same capacity as other military branches, enhancing their access to voting, which is crucial for those away from their home voting locations.
