Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill H 3229 clarifies that landlords in South Carolina cannot ask potential tenants for their credit scores on rental applications or as part of rental agreements. This change is significant because it aims to make the rental process more accessible, especially for individuals who may struggle with credit issues. By removing this requirement, the bill seeks to reduce barriers to housing, potentially allowing for a more diverse range of applicants to secure rental properties.
