Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill H 4867 specifies that the House of Representatives will hold an election for a new Chaplain on January 21, 2026, after the roll call. This is in response to the retirement of the current Chaplain, Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., and ensures that the House will continue to have spiritual support for its members. This change matters because it addresses the gap in leadership for spiritual guidance within the legislative body and keeps the tradition of having a Chaplain active in the House.
