The updated version of Bill H 4092 now includes a provision that exempts sales tax on handguns, rifles, shotguns, and ammunition during July 2025. This change aims to encourage responsible firearm ownership and purchasing by making these items more affordable. People interested in buying firearms or ammunition in South Carolina during that month will benefit from the lack of sales tax, which could help increase sales for local businesses.
