Plain-language change summary

The amended Bill H 4301 now requires that individuals convicted of certain DUI offenses in South Carolina must maintain a minimum level of automobile liability insurance for one year. Specifically, this insurance must cover $250,000 for bodily injury to one person, $500,000 for bodily injury to more than one person, and $250,000 for property damage in any single accident. This change is significant because it aims to ensure that those convicted of serious driving offenses have adequate insurance, potentially reducing the financial burden on victims of accidents caused by impaired drivers.
