Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill H 5007 provides that manufacturers' warranties for heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems will automatically transfer to new owners when the property is sold, effective June 30, 2026. This means that if homeowners sell their property with an HVAC system that still has a warranty, the next owner will benefit from that coverage without needing to take any additional steps. This change is important because it can enhance property value and provide peace of mind for new homeowners, ensuring they are protected from potential repair costs associated with the HVAC system.
