The recent changes to Bill S 349 approve new regulations for the licensing of mental health professionals in South Carolina, specifically targeting counselors and therapists. The key adjustment is the inclusion of a proposal for the Board of Examiners to update existing rules to align with current standards for Psycho-Educational Specialists. This matters because it ensures that licensing requirements are kept up-to-date, reflecting modern practices and improving the quality of care provided by these professionals.
