Plain-language change summary

The latest amendment to Bill S 690 expands the definition of "delinquent debt" to include certain costs collected by the Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services. This change is significant because it allows these additional costs, such as fines and fees imposed by a court, to be officially recognized as debts that can be collected through various means, potentially increasing the state's ability to recover funds owed by individuals who are under probation or parole. This means that more individuals could now face financial obligations related to court-ordered penalties, which may impact their financial situations.
