  Whereas, since its chartering in 1940, the Columbia (SC) alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
has served more than eight decades as a vital force in advancing the social, civic, and educational development of the citizens of Columbia and the greater Midlands community;

and   Whereas, through annual events such as Delta Day at the Capitol, members of the Columbia (SC) alumnae chapter and fellow Deltas from across the State of South Carolina come together to meet with legislators, share community concerns, and participate in meaningful dialogue that strengthens the bridge between citizens and their elected representatives;

  Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Columbia (SC) alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
