The amendment to Bill S 650 allows for the over-the-counter sale of ivermectin tablets in South Carolina without the need for a prescription or consultation with a healthcare professional. Additionally, pharmacists who sell ivermectin under this amendment will be protected from legal liability. This change is important because it increases access to ivermectin for the public, potentially simplifying the process for individuals seeking treatment, while also providing a safeguard for pharmacists involved in the sale.
