The recent amendment to Bill H 3339 changes the timeframe for when a landlord can begin the eviction process for nonpayment of rent. Previously, landlords could initiate eviction proceedings after five days of unpaid rent, but the amendment now allows this to happen after ten days. This change is significant because it gives tenants a bit more time to address their rental payments, which can help prevent sudden eviction during financial difficulties.
