Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill S 190 primarily involve the removal of a specific section that focused on updating the definition of redevelopment fees related to federal installations. This change means that the bill no longer addresses how redevelopment fees are defined in connection with closed or realigned federal installations. This matters because it simplifies the bill and allows it to concentrate on promoting affordable housing and adjusting timelines for municipalities to issue obligations for redevelopment projects, which could enhance housing opportunities and streamline development processes in communities.
