Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill H 3943 introduces an income tax credit for disabled veterans based on their disability rating from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Specifically, veterans can receive a nonrefundable tax credit that equals the percentage of their disability rating multiplied by their tax liability, capped at $5,000 annually. This change is significant because it provides financial support to veterans, helping to ease their tax burden and acknowledging their service and sacrifices. The bill will take effect after the Governor's approval and will apply to tax years starting from 2025.
