The recent amendments to Bill H 4045 update the qualifications needed for chief librarians and library staff in South Carolina. Specifically, the bill removes the requirement that these positions must be certified by the American Library Association or hold a master's degree from an accredited program. This change aims to broaden the pool of qualified candidates for these roles, ensuring that libraries can effectively serve their communities without being restricted by specific certification preferences.
