The recently amended Bill 3855 introduces a sales tax exemption for small arms and small arms ammunition in South Carolina. This change means that firearms like rifles, shotguns, and pistols, as well as their ammunition, will no longer be subject to sales tax. This exemption could potentially make gun purchases more affordable for consumers and may encourage responsible gun ownership by reducing the financial burden associated with buying firearms and their ammunition.
