The latest amendment to Bill H 5401 makes a significant change regarding the responsibilities of bondsmen. It now specifies that if a bondsman fails to comply with certain reporting requirements or violates rules, this must be reported to the South Carolina Department of Insurance by the solicitor for further administrative actions. This matters because it establishes clearer accountability and oversight for bondsmen, potentially improving compliance and regulation within the industry.
