Bill Text
What changed in the latest version
19 added · 9 removedPlain-language change summary
The latest version of Bill H 4258 has added a new section to the South Carolina Code that specifically prohibits the addition of fluoride compounds, such as sodium fluoride, to public drinking water supplies. This means that no public water system in South Carolina will be allowed to fluoridate its water. The change is significant because it reflects a shift in public health policy regarding fluoride use, which some believe is necessary to prevent potential health risks while others argue it is important for dental health. This amendment will take effect once it is approved by the governor.
