The proposed changes to Bill H 3606 involve the addition of a new definition for "legal custody" in the child custody laws of South Carolina. This definition clarifies the rights and responsibilities a parent would have towards their minor child, such as making decisions about medical care, education, and religious instruction. This change is important because it aims to provide clearer guidelines for legal custody arrangements, which can help ensure that children's best interests are prioritized in custody disputes.
