Plain-language change summary

In the revised version of Bill HB 2266, the allocation for funding highway maintenance has changed from one and a half mills to two and three-quarters mills for the State Highway Transfer Restoration Restricted Account. Additionally, the annual maintenance payment to municipalities for highways transferred to them has increased from $4,000 to $6,000 per mile. These changes are significant because they aim to provide more funding for highway maintenance, which can improve road conditions and safety for drivers in the long term.
