Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill HB 1127 now formally authorizes Pennsylvania to join the Dentist and Dental Hygienist Compact, allowing licensed professionals in participating states to practice across state lines without needing additional licenses. This amendment matters because it aims to improve public access to dental services and simplify the process for dentists and dental hygienists, addressing workforce shortages in the field. By streamlining licensing requirements, the law also helps ensure that public health and safety are maintained, as each state's authority to regulate practice remains intact.
