Plain-language change summary

The latest version of Bill HB 589 has added specific provisions for establishing a Landslide and Sinkhole Insurance Program and an associated Insurance Fund. While some names were updated and modifications were made to the bill’s sponsorship, importantly, this shift reflects a greater focus on protecting property owners from the financial risks associated with landslides and sinkholes. This matters because it aims to provide a safety net for individuals and communities affected by these natural events, ensuring they have access to financial support when disaster strikes.
