Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill SB 167 specify when local levying bodies in West Virginia can hold late meetings and submit late reports. Notably, the revised bill clarifies the timelines for these meetings, allowing them to extend their meeting periods up until June 1 if they are considering a levy during a primary election. This change aims to improve transparency and ensure that levying bodies can meet their obligations even if they face scheduling challenges. By providing clearer guidelines on the procedures for late meetings and reports, the bill helps ensure that local governments remain accountable while accommodating their operational needs.
