The amendment increases the limit on the number of temporary permits for the sale of alcoholic beverages from 25 to 52 for designated premises that are owned by a municipality or for events sponsored by a municipality. This change allows municipalities to host more events with the sale of alcohol in a calendar year, which could potentially lead to increased community engagement and events. The amendment also clarifies that certain organizations can still obtain permits for alcohol sales even if previously prohibited by a referendum.
