The amendments to Senate Bill No. 3298 modify the criteria under which a person with a developmental disability aged 21 to 25 can attend a special education program. Specifically, it allows these individuals to enroll in a program if their previous behavioral issues have been resolved and they will benefit from the education. Additionally, the amendments clarify that those transitioning from the Division of Children's System of Care are also included in this provision. This change matters because it provides opportunities for young adults with developmental disabilities to access educational resources that may support their development.
