The amendment increases the total grants-in-aid for special health services from $210,000 to $3,000,000. It also specifies that assisted living residences with a Medicaid population exceeding 50 percent will receive a reimbursement rate equal to the September 30, 2020 rate, plus a 25 percent adjustment, requiring at least 60 percent of that adjustment to be used for direct care staff wages. This change impacts funding for these facilities, directing a significant portion of the financial support towards staff compensation and pandemic-related expenses.
