Plain-language change summary

The changes to Senate Bill 114 expand the definition of "child" to include foster children and clarify which types of employees are eligible for benefits. Specifically, it now covers employees who work for county school boards, as opposed to just state government units. Additionally, the bill mandates employers to maintain health insurance for employees on leave and outlines how funds related to these benefits will be managed. These modifications are significant because they broaden support for working families and provide more comprehensive job protections during family leave.
