The amendments to Senate Bill No. 2945 specify that persons with disabilities are exempt from paying identification card fees, requiring proof of disability to be provided as determined by the Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission in consultation with the federal Social Security Administration. Additionally, the bill mandates that the chief administrator waive fees for persons who are homeless and who provide proof of temporary residence through a qualified social worker or emergency shelter coordinator. The amendments also update the bill by replacing references to the Division of Disability Determination Services with the federal Social Security Administration.
