The recent changes to Senate Bill 882 include requiring individuals arrested for driving under the influence to post bail before being released. Additionally, the bill removes the mandatory drug and alcohol testing requirement in certain scenarios and updates the language to be gender neutral. This matters because it aims to clarify the bail process and reduce unnecessary testing, making it more equitable and efficient for those accused of DUI offenses.
