The recent amendment to HB 3045 changes a law about fees related to vehicle accidents. The key update is that the prohibition on charging an accident response fee now includes a specific exception for volunteer fire departments. This matters because it allows volunteer fire departments to continue charging fees for their services at accident scenes, while preventing other entities from doing so, which could help maintain their funding.
