Plain-language change summary

The revised bill SB 1876 updates the rules for serving legal documents to foreign insurance companies in Oklahoma. It clarifies that these companies must appoint an agent for receiving legal notices, and this appointment cannot be revoked while they have contracts in the state. Additionally, it specifies that legal process should be served on the Insurance Commissioner if there are issues related to these insurers. These changes ensure that legal actions against foreign insurers are handled more efficiently and consistently, which is important for accountability and consumer protection.
