The amendment to Bill HB 1516 changes the minimum age for minors to enter into contracts for life or health insurance from 15 to 16 years old. This means that only minors who are 16 or older, with parental consent, can now sign such insurance contracts themselves. This change is significant as it aligns the age requirement with other legal responsibilities and could help ensure that minors are more mature and informed when making such important financial decisions.
