The recent amendment to HB 1571 modifies the Oklahoma Route 66 Commission by adding specific details about its members and their terms. Notably, the bill specifies that the Governor will appoint one member from the Oklahoma Tax Commission with a one-year initial term, followed by three-year renewable terms. This change is important because it clarifies the structure and governance of the Commission, ensuring that it is well-organized and has experienced members overseeing the iconic Route 66 initiatives until June 30, 2027.
