Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to HB 4108 enhances penalties for trespassing on critical infrastructure, specifically at airports. Now, if someone trespasses without permission, they may face a misdemeanor charge with a fine of at least $1,000 or up to six months in jail. More seriously, if a person's intent is to damage or disrupt operations, they could be charged with a Class D felony, facing a minimum fine of $10,000. This change is significant as it underscores the importance of protecting airport facilities and enhances consequences for those who violate these security measures.
