Plain-language change summary

The amendment to N.J.S.2A:14-2 changes the statute of limitations for actions related to medical malpractice for injuries sustained at birth. Now, if a parent or guardian does not file an action before the minor's 12th birthday, the minor or a designated adult can file on their behalf. This change matters because it allows more flexibility for minors in pursuing legal action, potentially increasing their access to justice regarding claims that may otherwise be time-barred.
