Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to House Bill 4098 broaden the scope of the Unlawful Trade Practices Act by including bad acts related to insurance, specifically those concerning third-party insurance claims. This change allows individuals to seek not just monetary damages, but also equitable relief through the courts. Additionally, it establishes new procedures requiring a state agency's approval before legal action can be taken regarding insurance practices. These updates are important as they aim to better protect consumers from unfair insurance practices and enhance accountability in the insurance industry.
