Plain-language change summary

The bill SB 1859 establishes a new Cyber Crime and Fraud Unit within the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. It outlines the unit's purpose and duties, including improving the Bureau's ability to investigate cyber-related crimes. Importantly, the bill clarifies that this new unit does not expand the Bureau's existing jurisdiction. This change matters because it enhances the Bureau’s resources to combat growing concerns related to cyber crime without overstepping legal boundaries.
