The recent amendment to Bill SB 2018 updates the definitions related to the assessment of taxable property for ad valorem tax in Oklahoma. Notably, it clarifies the term "assessor" to ensure it includes not just the county assessor but also their deputies and staff. These changes matter because they provide clearer guidelines for how property values are assessed, which can lead to fairer tax assessments and more accurate property valuations for homeowners and businesses alike.
